AutoBraille – a project with The Danish National Library for the Blind.
AutoBraille is the name of a cooperation between The Danish National Library for the Blind, Sensus ApS end Synscenter Refsnaes.
The purpose of AutoBraille is to automate the production of Braille books in contracted Braille. The fundamental basis of AutoBraille is a DAISY-file, which is used to produce structured talking books in the standardised DAISY format.
The word division and contraction in AutoBraille is based on RoboBraille/SB4, and a newly developed formatting program developed by The Danish National Library for the Blind.
As well as reducing the production time on Braille books, AutoBraille will also uniformise the formatting of Braille books.
AutoBraille is put into practice from 2009.
