RoboBraille wins the Access-IT@Learning Award 2009
RoboBraillle has been named winner of the ACCESS-IT@Learning Award at the special ACCESS-IT ceremony at Cardinal Place, London. RoboBraille received the award, as the international e-mail service is an ICT based product which facilitates persons with disability to get educated in an affordable, accessible, usable and efficient manner. The charity organisations AbilityNet and e-ISOTIS hosted the event together with the main sponsor, Microsoft. The event also featured a number of workshops about e-Accessibility and Assistive Technology.
”It is undoubtedly a great honour to win this Award”, says Lars Ballieu Christensen, co-inventor of the RoboBraille service. ”Actually, it is the fifth time within two years the project is named winner of an important international award. I am convinced that RoboBraile come across as a success because the service is making a real difference to real people and because we continue to develop RoboBraille. We are continuously looking for funding opportunities to keep the service free to the users and for that purpose the awards are important, he continues.
