RoboBraille in Polish

RoboBraille’s text to speech-translation is now able to convert documents in Polish to Polish synthetic speech. You can try it out by sending an email with an attached Polish text-file to mowa@robobraille.org. After a short while you will receive an email with the text converted to an mp3 file.

Please use it. It’s free for non-commercial users.

“For a long time, we have wanted to introduce RoboBraille in Poland. There is a large number of potential users. Not only can many dyslexic or visually impaired people benefit from the public service, but also local authorities and institutions can make good use of it,” says Lars Ballieu Christensen, RoboBraille administrator and one of the inventors of the service.

Although the service was only recently introduced in Poland, it has managed to raise local support. 54 years old Wojciech Maj is blind and works as a consultant for the team behind RoboBraille in Poland. He concludes: “I often recommend the service to people with partial sight, but that doesn’t mean that they are the only ones, who can benefit from it. I believe it is a solution for everyone, who has a busy life and would like to use the time optimally.”
