 RoboBraille converts digital text documents into for example audio files

What is RoboBraille?

RoboBraille is an e-mail service which can convert digital text documents into either Braille or audio files. It is quick and easy to use RoboBraille. You simply send an e-mail with an attached text document to RoboBraille. Shortly after, you will receive the document back from RoboBraille in the specified format - an audio file, for example.

It is free for non-commercial users to use RoboBraille.

Students learn to help themselves

John Latham works as a senior network manager and teacher at Lancaster and Morecambe College in England, where both visually impaired and dyslectic students study. In several of the school’s activities they include RoboBraille as an aid and their goal is to make students with special needs as self-sufficient as possible.

Carla Modolfo, a RoboBraille partner

New forms of cooperation

Carla Modolfo is the head of ”Associazione Nazionale Subvedenti”, which is an organization striving to improve the social and psychological conditions for visually impaired people in Italy. Their partnership with RoboBraille strengthens Carla and her colleagues in their working relations with local Italian companies and organizations, when developing new concepts and solutions for people with visual impairment.

16.08.2010: RoboBraille partner conference at ICCHP 2010

At this year's ICCHP conference in Vienna in July, the RoboBraille team hosted a mini conference for partners and other interested in the RoboBraille service. The intent was to share experiences amongst existing RoboBraille partners and invite new partners to join the network.

12.08.2010: RoboBraille in Polish

RoboBraille’s text to speech-translation is now able to convert documents in Polish to Polish synthetic speech. You can try it out by sending an email with an attached Polish text-file to mowa@robobraille.org. After a short while you will receive an email with the text converted to an mp3 file. The service is free to non-commercial users
